Anson Wong Ying Shun is a rising pianist from Hong Kong. He began his musical education at the age of nine at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where he studied piano, bassoon, and composition, graduating with distinction.
He is currently pursuing his master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London under Professor Christopher Elton, supported by prestigious scholarships including the Sir Elton John Global Exchange Programme. As a Steinway Prizewinner, recipient of third prize, and winner of the Beethoven Prize at the Dublin International Piano Competition, he has attracted international attention.
Anson is praised for playing that is “free of theatrics, yet full of poetry and passion,” captivating audiences with intelligence, power, and expression. He has already performed in cities such as London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Vienna, and Salzburg, and has appeared at festivals including the Mozarteum Salzburg and the Shenzhen Piano Music Festival.
