Precaution for operation under Covid 19 conditions

Our prevention and hygiene protocols for your safety and well-being on board

We have developed comprehensive prevention and safety protocols for operating our sailings. The measures comply with the highest hygiene standard with regard to Covid-19 and include organizational and hygiene measures as well as intensive crew training. Our protocols have been certified by the health experts of the world’s leading classification society DNV GL.

We will continuously adapt the following prevention and hygiene protocols to further developments. Full vaccination is mandatory for all cruises bookable through SEA CLOUD CRUISES.

Proof of vaccination and Covid-19 test obligation for guests

For embarkation all guests must prove their vaccination status and present a negative antigen test, which was carried out and certified no longer than 48 hours prior to embarkation. If more than 270 days have passed since basic immunization and no booster vaccination has taken place, 24 hours apply differently. In exceptional cases SEA CLOUD CRUISES organizes an antigen test for a fee (EUR 25 per person) during embarkation. Please inform SEA CLOUD CRUISES if you won´t be able to carry out the antigen test in due time. Only guests with a negative result are allowed to board. For embarkation we recommend to keep minimum distance and to wear a medical mouth-nose protection. For the transatlantic crossing and Cape Verde cruises, stricter regulations apply.

Regular health checks of the crew

Before the first start of operations the crew undergoes a comprehensive health check and a Covid-19 test, which is repeated at regular intervals on board. In the event of direct passenger contact, the crew is required to wear a medical mouth/nose protection in enclosed spaces. Every crew member on board is vaccinated.

Reliable medical care on board

For the health management on board, a Health and Infection Officer is deployed in addition to the ship’s doctor. The whole crew will intensively be trained on board in advanced prevention and hygiene measures and the early detection of Covid-19 symptoms. Should a suspected case of Covid-19 occur on board, the guest will receive medical care unless disembarkation takes place. An appropriate quarantine station will be kept on board.

100% fresh air in cabins and public areas

Fresh air also means clean air. Each passenger cabin is supplied with fresh air directly from the outside. The ventilation is designed in such a way that the exhaust air cannot reach another passenger cabin. Public areas are also supplied with 100% fresh air, which is discharged directly to the outside.

Icon5

Extensive technical hygiene equipment

The ships are equipped with contactless body thermometers and have Covid-19 test possibilities. The general rules of hygiene apply on board (hand hygiene, cough and sneeze etiquette, avoidance of facial contact). The number of disinfectant dispensers on board has been significantly increased so that guests and staff can disinfect their hands at all important contact points.

Intensive cleaning/disinfection of the cabins and all public areas

A very high standard of hygiene applies to our fleet. Frequently touched surfaces such as door handles and stair railings are cleaned and disinfected with increased frequency. Cabin cleaning takes place twice a day. Before the arrival of new guests, all cabins/suites and all public areas are cleaned with a state-of-the-art disinfection process.

Recommendation for mouth and nose protection

We recommend wearing mouth-nose protection on board and ashore, unless local regulations require masks.

Stricter requirements due to entry regulations possible
Some countries that are visited as part of our cruises have stricter requirements that must then be complied with by all passengers. We will inform you accordingly during the booking process.

Exclusion policy for participation in a cruise
For embarkation all guests must prove their vaccination status and present a negative antigen test, which was carried out and certified no longer than 48 hours prior to embarkation. If more than 270 days have passed since basic immunization and no booster vaccination has taken place, 24 hours apply differently. In exceptional cases SEA CLOUD CRUISES organizes an antigen test for a fee (EUR 25 per person) during embarkation. Please inform SEA CLOUD CRUISES if you won´t be able to carry out the antigen test in due time. Only guests with a negative result are allowed to board.

For all voyages bookable through SEA CLOUD CRUISES, a vaccination against Covid-19 is mandatory at the start of the voyage. Approved vaccines are those approved according to EU rules (EU Healthy Gateways). The vaccination obligation is fulfilled in case of a complete basic immunization or recovery.  In the case of an infection, a person is considered to have recovered if the person was tested positive with a PCR test at least 28 days ago up to a maximum of 6 months ago.
