All aboard our magnificent windjammers – the SEA CLOUD CRUISES main catalogue for 2020

The new SEA CLOUD CRUISES programme for 2020 also includes the SEA CLOUD SPIRIT. We are now taking pre-bookings for cruises on board our new ship.

The maiden voyage shall take place from Lisbon to Civitavecchia, near Rome. The ship shall remain in the western Mediterranean until the end of October, before changing course to the Canary Islands. After the Atlantic crossing from 9 to 24 November 2020, the SEA CLOUD SPIRIT will cruise around the Caribbean and along the Panama Canal until the start of 2021.

The SEA CLOUD SPIRIT – like its sister ships the SEA CLOUD and SEA CLOUD II – offers a unique cruise experience in the world’s most beautiful waterways. Sailed by hand, stylishly appointed and offering excellent service, the two windjammers combine an authentic sailing experience with all the amenities of a five-star hotel. The conviviality between guests and crew, culinary highlights and varied, top-class programme of events both on land and at sea make a cruise on board one of the SEA CLOUDs an unforgettable experience.

The range of destinations on offer spans from Central America, including Panama and Costa Rica, Cuba, the Lesser Antilles and Grenadines, through to the Canary Islands, Morocco and Cape Verde, to Northern Europe with the Atlantic coast, to the Baltic Sea, the western Mediterranean, Sicily, the Adriatic and the Aegean with the Cyclades and the Sporades. New to the programme for the SEA CLOUD SPIRIT are planned dockings in the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

Going forward, the shipping company will continue to offer special themed cruises on selected routes. Highlights of the recently released 2020 programme include:

Caribbean and the Bucket Regatta

As a particular highlight of the next winter season, the SEA CLOUD and the SEA CLOUD II will sail together in the St. Barths Bucket Regatta. The SEA CLOUD shall begin its journey in Barbados, offering guests a host of activities including snorkelling experiences in the paradise of the Tobago Cays and a chance to take in the French flair of the Îles des Saintes. The SEA CLOUD II sets sail from St. Maarten and takes passengers through the scenic idyll of the British Virgin Islands. Both windjammers then meet for a first-class sailing event, where 30 stylish superyachts race against each other in the waters off St. Barths for the annual Bucket Regatta.

The legend of the sea meets the legends of the racetrack

The best of two worlds: in 2020, for the first time ever, the SEA CLOUD will drop anchor for the ‘Grand Prix Monaco Historique’. Here, the elegant serenity of sailing meets the thrill of the race as the classic cars take to the famous circuit, their engines roaring. Guests of the SEA CLOUD are invited to enjoy the spectacle from the terrace of the sophisticated Automobile Club de Monaco. The two-day VIP ticket for the races and the supporting programme are included in the price of the cruise.

Art & architecture

Old masters, contemporary art and innovative architecture: the cruise from Portsmouth to Hamburg on board the SEA CLOUD II travels to four diverse cultural cities. Guests will be joined on board by lecturer Dr Karen Michels and artist Ulla Schmidt-Pesch, whose expert knowledge is guaranteed to ignite the imagination. This art-inspired journey begins with a top-class London-based programme. As a particular highlight, the National Gallery shall open for an evening viewing exclusively for guests of the SEA CLOUD II. Following further artistic excursions in Antwerp and Rotterdam, the windjammer shall set course for Hamburg, where guests can enjoy the view of the Elbphilharmonie at the entrance to the harbour.

Promoting young talent – the Steinway cruise

The Steinway grand piano in the lounge of the SEA CLOUD II is a unique masterpiece, which in 2020 will feature on our fourth music-themed cruise in close collaboration with Steinway. Three top-class young pianists, all winners of the Steinway Prizewinner Concert Network, shall inspire guests with their astounding talent as they sail towards the fjords of southern Norway. An extra special experience awaits passengers on their trip ashore in Oslo, where the young artists will give a private concert in a very exclusive setting.

Culinary delights of the Atlantic coast

From Ireland’s outstanding craft beers to delicious oysters between Brittany and Aquitaine, the finest gourmet specialities from San Sebastián, washed down with sparkling French Champagne and the incredible wines of Spain and Portugal, this luxury gourmet cruise from Dublin to Lisbon on board the SEA CLOUD II is sure to indulge the senses. Joining passengers on board will be two guest chefs and the champagne sommelier and wine lecturer Nils Lackner. Guests also have the option to book a pre-cruise stay in Dublin.
