Questions & answers: general information

What are tenders?

On ocean cruises, local conditions may mean that the ship had to drop anchor outside of a harbour (in a roadstead). In such a situation, the ship's own boats (tenders) are used to take the guests to the shore and bring them back on board. Tender ports are indicated with an anchor in the trip description.
