SEA CLOUD CRUISES GmbH would like to inform you of the reasons why we collect your personal data on our website, as well as the nature and scope of these activities. Personal data can be defined as "individual details concerning the personal and material circumstances of a specific or identifiable natural person" (Section 3, Paragraph 1 of the German Data Protection Act [Bundesdatenschutzgesetz]).

1. Technical website design

We have designed this website to ensure that it can generally be used without submitting personal data. However, whenever you access our website, your usage data (as defined in Section 15 of the German Teleservices Act [Telemediengesetz]) will be stored in order to enable the technical processing and management of your requests. The server log files are used to store the IP address, host name, date and time of your visit, the required file/URL, the reply status, the quantity of transferred data, the referrer (site from which the visitor gained access) and the browser ID (user agent). At the end of the relevant session, this data will be made anonymous or deleted within 30 days.

2. Web analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. ('Google'). Google Analytics uses 'cookies', which are text files stored on your computer that enable your use of the website to be analysed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website will usually be transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the United States. However, we have instructed Google by contract to shorten your IP address to ensure that your IP address is always anonymised before being processed.

Google will use this information on our behalf for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing us with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. The shortened IP address that your browser transmits as part of Google Analytics will not be associated with any other Google data.

If you voluntarily submit your personal data when completing a form (e.g. to request a call-back, subscribe to the newsletter or order a brochure), we will only use this data for the purpose you have selected. It may however be necessary to pass on your details to external service providers in order to fulfil this purpose. These service providers are required by us not to use your details for their own or any other purposes.

5. Unencrypted connection

Please note that our website generally operates by means of unencrypted data transfer. In order to protect the data you enter into forms (when ordering brochures, subscribing to the newsletter, making enquiries, etc.) against access by unauthorised third parties, these forms are transmitted using the TLS encryption protocol (the successor of SSL).

6. Right to information

You have the right to receive information free of charge concerning your own personal data stored by us and our subcontractors. If we have unexpectedly stored incorrect data or collected data improperly, we will immediately correct/delete this data.

It may be necessary to change our privacy statement and also the underlying technical settings in line with any change of circumstance of a factual or legal nature. Please therefore note that this privacy statement may change from time to time.
