Winter 2014/15 with a focus on Cuba, the ABC Islands and Central America

SEA CLOUD CRUISES, the Hamburg based operator for small, exceptional cruises introduces its winter programme for the 2014/2015 season.

When winter hits Europe, the two Windjammers SEA CLOUD and SEA CLOUD II set course for warmer climes: Central America and Cuba, the Lesser Antilles and the Grenadines.

Firstly, both yachts invite their guests on the transatlantic crossing, starting from Las Palmas, Gran Canaria to follow the historic Columbus route to the West Indies, bringing to life the great fabled voyages of discovery. (SEA CLOUD: 29.11. to 15.12.2014 and SEA CLOUD II: 24.11. to 09.12.2014).

After two and a half weeks the two windjammers reach the Caribbean Sea where they will cruise the Lesser Antilles and The Grenadines. Also on the programme are the aptly named ABC islands of Aruba, Curaçao and Bonaire, where the historical Dutch past is still apparent in colourful pastel-shaded architecture.

For Christmas and the New Year SEA CLOUD II heads for Tobago, Grenada, St. Lucia and Dominica. With ideal sailing conditions, this charming corner of the globe offers dense rainforests, beautiful beaches and a fascinating world below sea level. There is also a jet-set atmosphere of glitz and glamour to enjoy in St. Barths. The acclaimed historian and presenter Prof. Dr. Guido Knopp will accompany the cruise, well known for his award-winning television documentaries and publications on contemporary history. Guests can look forward to exciting lectures on board (Barbados - Barbados, 22.12.2014 to 05.01.2015)

In the second half of January 2015 the SEA CLOUD returns to the Atlantic side of Central America to discover the world of the Maya in Mexico and the second largest coral reef in the world around Belize. She will then sail to Cuba and remain there for two extended trips, (Havana - Havana, 27.01.2015 to 06.01.2015 and Havana - Santo Domingo/Dominican Republic, 06.02.2015 to 16.02.2015). Meanwhile, SEA CLOUD II will trace the ABC islands along the Atlantic coast of Venezuela and Colombia continuing to Panama and Costa Rica (Barbados - Puerto Limón, 22.01.2015 to 05.02.2015).

The winter season for both ships ends where it began: Off the Lesser Antilles and the Grenadines. After the cruise Barbados - Barbados (SEA CLOUD 26.03. to 06.04.2015 and SEA CLOUD II 24.03. to 02.04.2015) they will head back for the Mediterranean.
