SEA CLOUD in Hamburg again for the first time in 33 years

In the last six months the now 80-year old windjammer legend SEA CLOUD was brought into line with new SOLAS regulations (SOLAS = Safety of life at sea) at the Motorenwerke Bremerhaven (MWB) shipyard. For the first time in 33 years the four-masted bark is on display again in all its glory at the Überseebrücke in Hamburg and will be taking part in the Port Birthday Hamburg arrival and departure parades (6 - 8 May 2011).

After the festivities are over, the SEA CLOUD will set sail for Sylt on a taster trip on 9 May, returning to the Port of Hamburg on 13 May. Her next destination will be Bremerhaven via Sylt, where the windjammer lady can be seen at the Kreuzfahrtterminal on 16 May. Southern England will be followed by the western Mediterranean and the Adriatic Sea and in the autumn, Greece and Cyprus.

The SEA CLOUD will be spent the winter in the Lesser Antilles and the Grenadines: passengers can choose between 7 to 11-day offers; for example, they have the option of spending Christmas and New Year on sandy white beaches encircled by lush green palm trees, colourful beach bars and the sparkling blue sea.

SEA CLOUD II will be setting sail for new shores when she crosses the Panama Canal to visit Costa Rica for the first time in January 2012. The classic destination of Cuba with its thrilling music and culture will also feature once again.
